Nexus Vijaya Mall decks up for Pongal Celebration: Unique dance performances planned at the mall
Chennai, 11th January, 2023: Pongal Celebration, one of the widely celebrated festivals in India is around the corner and Nexus Vijaya Mall is all set to usher into the celebration by bringing curated performances, activities along with decking up the mall in a unique Pongal theme between 14th January – 17th January.
The entire central atrium area will be adorned with colorful kite hangings. The atrium will also showcase an innovative installation of a traditional Tamil household to recreate the magical ancient era of Pongal celebration in its true essence. The harvesting festival is a celebration to offer gratitude to Mother nature, Sun and various farm animals and each day of the celebration has a special religious significance attached to it. Keeping in line with that the mall will have various dance performances lined up to resonate the theme of the day.
The thoughtfully curated list of dance performances at the mall include Parai Attam, a special dance in Tamil culture in which folks use the instrument- Parai and dance to its rhythm, Mayilattam which is an artistic and religious form of dance performed in the Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu in reverence to Lord Subrahmanya, Karakaattam and Puravi Aattam the popular folk-dance forms of Tamil Nadu, Sakthi Karakam, the spiritual dance form and Aatta Karakam, a dance form to offer joy and happiness. There will also be a special performance on Silambattam, an Indian martial art originating in South India.
Each of the performances promises to be a wonderful testimony to the mall’s effort to ring in the festival in a unique way and will only be complete when the shoppers will go and experience them in person.
