Presidency Club, Chennai,Is Hosting A World-Class Tennis Event, An ITF Tournament, PC Open, Starting From 11th Sep’2023 To 16th Sep 2023
Presidency club chennai, one of the prestigious clubs in Chennai The ITT Seniors circuit conducts more than 280 tournaments in more than 60 countries with 20000+ players taking part each year.
About PC Open- ITF Seniors Circuit
PC Open is an ITF Seniors Circuit tournament with 35+, 45+ and 55+ categories in singles and doubles format. For the first time in South India, an ITT Tournament is being conducted for Women. The qualifying rounds will start on the 08/09/2023. All the matches will be played in the tennis courts in Presidency Club and SDAT Tennis Stadium in best of three tie break sets format.
The Total Prize money for the event is 2.10 Lakhs.
The Presidency Club has conducted 3 similar events in the past successfully and there has been good participation from tennis players from across the world. The organizing committee Chairman Dr. K. Shivaram Selvakkumar has vast experience in conducting similar events and has also been part of the INTA which conducts the Chennai Open. The Tournament Director is Mr. Hiten Joshi.
The Club will be hosting a Gala Dinner and Entertainment on the 13th Sep 2023 for all the players.
The registration for the event is completed and over 90 participants have registered for the various categories viz. 35+, 45+ and 55+ in both singles and doubles. The draws will be made on the 10th Sep 2023. The semi-finals will be played on the 15th Sep 23 and the finals will be played on 16th Sep 23 in Presidency Club Tennis courts.
The event is being conducted under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) All India Tennis Association (AITA) and Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (INTA).
The ITF controls the major International Team events for all age groups, including the world’s two largest annual international team competitions in sport, Davis Cup by BNP Paribas for men and Fed CUP by BNP Paribas for women.
The ITT is involved at the highest levels of the game, including “the greatest show on earth”, the Olympic Games, to which tennis was reintroduced as a full medal sport in 1988. In addition, the ITF works closely with the four Grand Slam Tournaments Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open.
