BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals Brings Mothers Across City Together for Mother’s Day

Over 1000 families came together to mark this Mother’s Day by turning community spaces into shared celebrations of motherhood.

Chennai, 11th May 2026: BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals, the women’s health, maternity and fertility care vertical of Rainbow Children’s Hospital, marked Mother’s Day with a city-wide community celebration across Chennai, bringing together over 1000 women, mothers, children and families for an evening centred on togetherness, joy and shared memories. The celebrations were held across neighbourhood hubs like Marina Mall and Ampa SkyOne.

Across both venues, the evening featured live music, instant photo booths, family-friendly games and interactive activities for parents and children. Beyond the festivities, the celebrations created space for mothers to step away from the rhythm of daily routines and be at the centre of the occasion. Families from Sholinganallur and Anna Nagar came together to celebrate motherhood not only as a personal milestone, but as a shared community experience, one that brought together partners, children and extended family members across generations. The simultaneous gatherings transformed familiar neighbourhood spaces into warm, lively settings where families could pause, connect and create memories together.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Nivedita S, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals, Chennai said, “Motherhood is often celebrated through milestones, but it is equally shaped by everyday moments of care, connection and support. Through BirthRight, our endeavour has always been to walk alongside women and families through every stage, from fertility and pregnancy to childbirth and early parenting. This Mother’s Day celebration was designed to extend that support beyond the hospital setting and create spaces where families could come together, celebrate motherhood and build lasting memories within their own communities.”

Adding to this, Mr. Gunashekar. C, Cluster Head, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Chennai, said, “At BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals, we believe care goes beyond clinical excellence, it also means creating meaningful community engagement for the families we serve. Hosting simultaneous celebrations across Sholinganallur and Anna Nagar allowed us to bring this occasion closer to neighbourhoods across Chennai. The enthusiastic participation from families across all three venues reflects the trust the community places in us and reinforces our commitment to family-centred care.”

BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals offers perinatal care services including normal and complex obstetric care, multidisciplinary foetal care, perinatal genetic and fertility care, along with gynaecology services. Conceptualised as a neighbourhood-led Mother’s Day initiative, the celebrations reflected BirthRight’s belief in taking engagement beyond the hospital environment and closer to the communities it serves, creating a welcoming space where families could come together and celebrate motherhood in a meaningful and accessible way. Families from across these neighbourhoods participated in the simultaneous celebrations, turning the evening into a vibrant gathering of parents, children and caregivers from different parts of the city.
