KCG College of Technology’s Engenius’25 Inspires Nearly 2,500 Students

CHENNAI, Tamil Nadu – August 2025 – KCG College of Technology today celebrated the grand finale of its flagship annual science and technology programme, Engenius’25, which saw an unprecedented turnout of 2,753 students from 31 schools across Chennai and surrounding regions. The event, designed to bridge the gap between school and college, marked a staggering 127% increase in participation compared to the previous year, highlighting a growing enthusiasm for STEM education among the youth.

Engenius’25 served as a dynamic platform for school students to engage in hands-on workshops, challenging competitions, and interactive sessions with academic experts. The programme’s core objective is to provide a real-world taste of higher education in technology and engineering, nurturing the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers. The vibrant atmosphere on campus, filled with curiosity and competitive spirit, stood as a testament to the event’s success in igniting a passion for science.

The grand finale was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, the Honourable Minister for School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu and Mr Manish Pratap Singh, Director of DYSL-CT, Chennai.

In his address, the Honourable Minister Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi praised the initiative, stating, “Initiatives like Engenius’25 are crucial for building a vibrant educational landscape in Tamil Nadu. Providing students with early exposure to practical science and technology is essential for nurturing the problem-solvers of tomorrow. I commend KCG College of Technology for creating such an impactful platform that aligns perfectly with our vision for holistic school education. First, always remember the power of rational thinking. Don’t just accept something because you’re told to. Ask questions, seek evidence, and think for yourself. That curiosity is the engine of all great innovations. Second, never underestimate the impact of a small idea. A simple observation about the sound of a liquid led to the invention of ultrasound technology, which saves countless lives today. Every great invention starts with a single, small spark of curiosity.”

The event was held under the visionary leadership of the Hindustan Group of Institutions. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of the Hindustan Group of Institutions, remarked, “The phenomenal growth of Engenius’25 is a testament to the burgeoning curiosity for STEM fields among our youth. At the Hindustan Group, our core mission is to empower the next generation. This programme is a direct reflection of that commitment—creating an ecosystem where young minds can explore, innovate, and get a tangible feel for their future careers. We are immensely proud to host these future leaders.”

Dr. Annie Jacob, Director of KCG College of Technology, shared her delight at the programme’s impact. “The energy on campus has been electric. Engenius’25 is more than a competition; it is a celebration of curiosity. Our goal was to ignite a spark, to show these brilliant students that engineering and technology are creative, exciting fields. Seeing their enthusiasm in the workshops and their competitive spirit in the events confirms that we are making a real impact. This is the very heart of what we do at KCG Tech.”

Adding to this, Dr. M. Muthukannan, Principal of KCG College of Technology, commented on the collective effort behind the event’s success. “The seamless execution of Engenius’25 is a result of the incredible collaborative spirit of the entire KCG family. I am immensely proud of our faculty, staff, and student volunteers who worked tirelessly to provide an enriching and memorable experience for nearly 3,000 visiting students. This event truly showcases our institution’s capability and commitment to extending learning beyond the classroom.”

The successful execution was made possible by the dedication of the entire KCG home team. The college extended its sincere gratitude to the school managements, principals, and 94 coordinating faculty members whose dedication was foundational to the event’s success. The faculty, organisers, non-teaching staff, and student volunteers were also lauded for creating a seamless and enriching experience for all participants.

As Engenius’25 draws to a close, the echoes of innovation and excitement continue to resonate. The programme has successfully planted a seed of inspiration in the minds of its young participants, encouraging them to pursue their curiosity and build the future. KCG College of Technology looks forward to building on this monumental success and welcoming even more young minds in the years to come.
