Chennai, September 3, 2025 – Agurchand Manmull Jain College, a premier institution under the Sri S.S. Jain Educational Society, Meenambakkam, proudly celebrated its 123rd Founder’s Day with grandeur, reflecting on its rich legacy of academic excellence and service to society. The event took place at the Bhagwan Mahaveer Gyan Bhavan and brought together faculty, students, alumni, and dignitaries.
The celebration honored the enduring vision of Padma Shri Mohanmull Chordia, whose values and commitment to education laid the foundation for the college’s growth and success over more than a century.
The event commenced with the Garlanding of the Founder’s Statue, the Lighting of the Kuthuvilaku, and a heartfelt prayer, setting a reverent tone for the day.
A highlight of this year’s celebration was a landmark donation of ₹21,00,000 (Rupees Twenty-One Lakhs) by the Sah Agurchand Manmull Family. This contribution will be used to establish a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, aimed at enhancing the institution’s digital learning infrastructure and equipping students with cutting-edge technological resources.
Adding to this, Mr. Udhan Kumar Chordia, Secretary, emphasized the role of education, stating,
“Education is the most powerful tool for transformation. At AM Jain College, we are dedicated to shaping young minds with values, knowledge, and skills that will empower them to thrive in an ever-evolving world. This new computer laboratory represents our commitment to innovation and progress.”
The program featured vibrant cultural performances by students, an address by the Founder’s family, and an inspiring keynote speech by Mr. Sathyanarayanan Ganesh, Group Executive Vice President and Regional Head of Retail Banking (South & Goa), RBL Bank Ltd., who served as the Chief Guest.
